PCJVC Mini Club
At PCJVC, we love club volleyball. We love getting better through practice and we love the thrill of competition. But we don't love the trade-offs that the modern club volleyball experience sometimes includes. We think that our local athletes should have the opportunity to engage in high level training and a chance to play against good competition without having to drive an hour or more, and without having to commit to a 6-month season that disrupts homework time, family dinner time, down time, weekend adventures and summer trips. That's why we created our Mini Club program.
What about a Boys Mini Club? If we can generate enough interest (please get in touch if interested!), we are tentatively hoping to plan a Boys Mini Club season for Fall of 2025.
PCJVC Mini Club Basics
What is a Mini Club Season?
The PCJVC 2025 Girls Mini Club season is designed as a 12-week program (March 4 - May 30, off the week of April 14 - 18 for Spring Break) for two teams of 12 players. Teams will practice twice a week in the evenings and will have the option of registering for one local one-day tournament in SLC.
Who should sign up?
Mini Club is a great way to get involved in team volleyball without the financial and time commitment of a more traditional 6-month club season. The program designed to introduce and teach ALL aspects and skills of the game in a fun and competitive environment. We want to give players an idea of what the club experience feels like as well as give them a chance to play outside their school season. Our current offerings are ideal for players roughly ages 11-16. If you are wondering if this might be a good fit for your athlete, please reach out.
When will the teams practice?
Our current schedule has us starting up on March 4th, practicing on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 - 8:00pm for most of March and April. After the week of Spring Break we will likely shift into Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30 - 8:00pm. Our last practice will be the week of May 26.
Who are the coaches?
Each team will have their own head coach of either Bethany or Anna, but as the teams will practice on 2 courts side by side, all players will work with both coaches on various skills. Please read more about our experienced coaches on our About page.
Where will practices/competitions take place?
We will practice at the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse for most of the season, and some practices will be held at the Ecker Hill Middle School gym in late April/May.
Each team will have the option to decide whether they'd like to register for a club tournament in April. If the team decides to register, that tournament would be held in the greater Salt Lake City area.
We are also trying to organize a local end of season competition (TBD).
What is the program cost?
Tuition for the 12-week season will be $1,200 for 36 hours of training ($33/hour). If the team chooses to register for the optional tournament, all team members will need to sign up for a $20 AAU Membership and will be invoiced separately for a jersey and tournament registration fees.
What is included in that cost?
-
Two 90-minute practices per week (36 hours)
-
One practice T-shirt
-
One PCJVC hoodie
